Butter London Scuppered

I was delighted to find the trio of Butter London Holiday 2012 polishes at Nordstrom's Rack for a mere $15 dollars. Given that Butter London polish usually runs $15 each, I couldn't pass the deal up!
Today I have for you Scuppered. The color on this foil polish was stunning- somewhere between rose gold and bronze scattered with pink and green glitter. This polish lives up to the high standard I would expect from Butter London given my previous experiences. Though the application wand/brush is a bit short for my tastes, it doesn't change that it was pretty easy to use. The pictures I'm posting are actually after several days of wear, and as you can see, even the tip wear is minimal.

CrowsToes Herart Breaker

No, I did not spell the name of the polish wrong- this is Herat Breaker, the polish that started it all for the fabulous indie polish maker CrowsToes.
This polish has a gorgeous duochrome base shifting from green to a deep purple. The polish is full of small iridescent glitter and larger green hex glitter.
These pictures are two coats over black. I have to say, the wear on the polish was shockingly good! I wore this for a full week with just tip wear.
Enjoy!

Nars King Kong

This is the only Nars polish I own- I received it from a friend for Easter about a year back.
King Kong is an interesting polish; it is a metallic bronze leaning brown with shimmering red highlights.
It went on opaque in two coats. I wasn't sure how I felt on the color once it was on me, but I received enough compliments where I'll probably wear it again.
What do you think?

Glue Base Glitter Method

Many of you have probably heard about using school glitter as a base to make your own 'paint and peel' style polishes. This idea is fantastic, especially for a manicure that you only want to wear for a day that might be difficult to remove- like a glitter bomb for a party! I had to give it a try myself...
For less than a $1 you can pick up school glue from just about any retailer, and from my local nail supply, I was able to get an empty polish bottle for 70 cents to put the glue in so I could paint it on my nails.

I painted a generous amount on to my nails, giving it a chance to mostly dry before painting any color on.

Then I painted on my color- a base of Revlon Royal and two coats of the stunning Girly Bits Daddy's Little Girl. This glitter filled polish would usually be a challenge to remove!

I topped it with some flash dry top coat since I was in a hurry to get out the door, but I wore it for a good six hours before attempting removal. Because I put on the quick dry top coat, I did give all the nails a quick swipe of nail polish remover before starting to gently lift off the polish with a cuticle stick. I could not be more impressed with results! This is the removal from the thumb, accomplished with quite minimal effort...

I know there is some of the Revlon Royal that came through, though I can't complain as that last bit of color wiped right off with some remover. Ta-da!

Without a doubt, I will use this method in the future! It was cheap, easy, and peeling off the polish was actually quite amusing. I hope you give it a try too!

Companion Cube Nails

Dear husband gave me Portal and Portal 2 for Christmas.
This manicure was inspired by the darling Companion Cube.
I think the Mosaic Lacquer Paper Anniversary really made this manicure stand out! Those white hearts brought the whole concept together.

DDP Dorthy

Today we have DDP Dorthy over Pure Ice Getting Gorgeous.
I was in the mode for a green glitter bomb and this combo fit the bill perfectly!
DDP Dorthy is a beautiful variety of light green, teal, and gold glitters in a clear base.

Layal Ceramic Effect 52

When I saw this at Ulta, it quite literally make me squeal!
All these incredible color changing flakies in a purple jelly base- it was just too much!
This is two coats over Revlon Royal- do you like it as much as I do?

OPI Man of la Mancha

I did quite of bit of layering today. I was really happy with the result! I started with OPI Grape Set Match, then put on a layer of the beautiful multichrome OPI Man of la Mancha, and topped it all of Finger Paints Flashy. I loved the way these polishes played in the light!

Revlon Royal

Ladies, get this polish while you can!
I found it on clearance for 75% after hearing so many great things about this awesome jelly.
This polish is truly amazing- at just one coat it is wearable even though it's still a delightful royal jelly.
I hope you can find it!

Pure Ice makes Butter London Black Knight dupe

Pure Ice has a Butter London Black Knight dupe! It is truly uncanny.
See for yourself :)
Bottle shots

Can you tell which one is Pure Ice and which is the BL?

Butter London Black Knight was middle finger ;)
And the name of the polish is

By the way, the only difference I can see is that the Pure Ice might dry a smidge matte-ier and has the tiniest bit of texture, but still nothing that requires top coat taming :)
Enjoy!

OPI Grape, Set, Match

OPI Grape Set Match is a great violet, almost like a variation of OPI Ink, leaning far more red than blue. It was easy to apply, and fully opaque in two coats. I really am a fan of these foils- they give so more sparkle!

Pure Ice Royal Flush

Fortunately, I found a wonderful new display of Pure Ice polishes that had not yet been completely destroyed before I got to it. This was one of my favorite picks!  Royal Flush was a beautiful purple and gold duochrome foil. Color wise, this was everything that I wanted Nicole by OPI Iris My Case to Be. Enjoy! And please forgive the shiny fingers- I had just put on cuticle oil before the pictures ;)

Pantone Universe Purple Parachute

Very rarely do I purchase polishes from Sephora. Although it's a lovely store, it tends to run a bit on the spend-y side. Despite that, after seeing preview pictures of this polish, I promptly ran to my local Sephora so I cold get it in my hot little hands. The packaging really was decedent, and even the bottle shape screamed class. Enjoy my swatches :)

L'Oreal Brit Invasion

When I bought this polish I really thought it was going to be a purple taupe with gold shimmer. I was quite surprised at how brown it was on the nail, but even more surprised by how much I liked it! Yes, this color actually has made me realize what a nice polish color brown can be. This polish really is fabulous for the fall, mimicking the appearance gilded leaf about to fall from the tree.

Essence Colour & Go grey-t to be here

Essence Colour & Go recently revamped their line. They are now sslightly bigger at .27 oz, have a sexy new bottle, and have not significantly increased in price. Among the new colors in this revamp was grey-t to be here. This soft grey is very unique because of the pink/red/gold shimmer. It was pretty easy to use, though I don't believe the wear time was exceptional. This is still a great cheap thrill and I am happy to have it in my collection.

Sinful Colors Winter Wonder

This polish rocks! I don't think it's a Zoya fei fei dupe though. It leans more green and sparkles many more colors. These pictures are two very easy coats. If you have not already picked this up, check your local drug stores- it's a truly fabulous find for only $2.

Urban Outfitters Green Holo

Picked this up the other day with a very dear friend. The sweet sales associate even gave us the 2 for $8 price :)

This is sooo freaking holo it just makes me want to squeal!  :heartbeat:

The pictures are of two coats, no undies topped with SV. Enjoy  ;)
